State Representative Blaine Wilhour is co-sponsoring bipartisan legislation to make school report cards more transparent.
Wilhour is co-sponsoring the measure from Chicago Democrat Will Davis and he asked Davis questions about the bill on the Illinois House Floor.
The bill, which is House Bill 3446, requires that a school district’s report card include the district’s expenditure of base funding minimum and evidence-based funding received from the state. It requires that included in a school district’s annual spending plan they shall indicate which stakeholder groups the organizational unit engaged to inform annual spending plans. And, it provides that annual spending plans shall be integrated in annual school district budgets. The bill was approved by the House by a 106 to 0 vote and now moves to the Illinois Senate.
