We are looking at sunny skies for today with a high of 77. Winds will gust out of the southwest at better than 30 miles per hour today. Then, we’ll see clear skies for tonight with a low of 53.
Meanwhile, we have another threat of severe weather on Thursday evening/night. In their latest weather briefing, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says the potential for severe weather returns on Thursday with the arrival of a cold front. Thursday morning, a complex of thunderstorms will move into central/northeast Missouri and move southeast. These may pose a damaging wind threat. Thursday afternoon, additional thunderstorms are expected to develop along the front. Primary threats include damaging wind and large hail, though a low tornado threat will also exist. The greatest potential for severe is expected to be within the Slight Risk area—which includes our entire area. Our timing for severe storms on Thursday looks to be between 4 pm and 7 pm.
