The Fayette County Board has moved forward with changes to their Solar Ordinance Application Fee Structure.
Fayette County Board Vice-Chairman Merrell Collins led the discussion on the matter. He says 3 years ago the county did not have a special use permit. Since then, they have had them with fees they learned were not enough. But, he says they worked with a solar company to help structure this newest agreement.
And, he says all sides appear to be happy with the agreement and he also adds this is just for commercial projects.
As for wind, Collins says that did not come up during this meeting but he says the new ordinance for wind projects is written and they have have a special use meeting soon. Collins says there are also a couple of wind projects in the works at this time.
