Saying it’s too much, too soon, numerous groups are denouncing the EPA’s recently announced emission standards, with the Illinois Corn Growers Association being one of them. Car buyers will see more fuel-efficient and electric models in showrooms going forward, but the low gas mileage cars and trucks won’t be available for sale much longer. Garrett Hawkins, vice president of the Illinois Corn Growers Association, says the switch to EVs should be more gradual because the infrastructure is nonexistent.
A new poll by The Center Square shows that nearly two-thirds of voters say the government is pushing EVs too hard because there is insufficient demand.
