(Rushville, IL) — Officials in Rushville in western Illinois are asking residents to fly their flags at half-staff today in memory of the victims of a fatal traffic accident that left three children and two adults dead. Illinois State Police say it happened yesterday when a school bus crossed the center line on U.S. Route 24 in Rushville and collided with a semi truck. Three children and the driver from Schuyler-Industry Schools, and the driver of the semi truck were pronounced dead at the scene. The children, who were aged three to five years old, and a 57-year-old woman were from Rushville, while a 72-year-old man was from Browning. Which adult was driving which vehicle has not been announced. Rushville is about 60 miles west of Springfield.
