(Springfield, IL) — Illinois officials are discussing whether to kick former President Trump off the 2024 ballot. The State Board of Elections is voting Tuesday on the issue, which comes after a Republican judge argued the board didn’t have the authority or time to consider the matter before Illinois’s primary on March 19th. Several other states are trying to do the same — claiming Trump broke the law related to the Jan 6th riots. The Supreme Court is set to hear arguments next month in the Colorado case which could end up being the precedent for all the state ballot cases.
