The Fayette County Coroner reports that a juvenile was shot and killed on Saturday evening in rural Fayette County.
Fayette County Coroner David Harris reports that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Harris. Also on the scene were personnel from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Vandalia Police Department, St. Elmo Police Department and St. Peter Fire Department. Coroner Harris says they were joined on the scene by CSI and the Department of Criminal Investigation from the Illinois State Police.
Harris says in the report that an autopsy will be conducted in Springfield on Monday. And, that no further information will be released at this time.
