After several years as the Assistant Principal at Vandalia High School, Greta Krueger will step into the Principal’s position on July 1, 2026 taking over for current Principal Randy Protz upon his retirement after the 2025-2026 school year. Education in the state has been through many ups and downs in the last decade or so as Krueger has went from being a teacher to an administrator with things ranging from budget issues to adjusting to and getting through the pandemic and so much more. When asked how things have helped shaped her into a better leader and to help implement new programs and such for the school, Kruger says it has helped her be an administrator who knows her strengths and when to ask for help when needed to get things done.
And Krueger says there are still many things she would like to see from the school going forward the next couple years and then beyond that when she steps up into the Principal role.
Krueger will serve in the Principal’s position for the 2026-2027 thru 2028-2029 school years before she herself will then retire as well following approval of her 5-year request for retirement at this past Monday night’s Vandalia School Board meeting.
