Today is Veterans Day in the United States. It is a day to honor all those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Veterans Day got it’s official start on November 11th of 1919 when President Woodrow Wilson issued a message to his countrymen on the first Armistice Day. The U.S. Congress adopted a resolution on June 4th of 1926 requesting that President Coolidge issue annual proclamations calling for the observance of November 11th with appropriate ceremonies. And, in June of 1954 a bill in Congress replaced “Armistice” with “Veterans” and it has been known as Veterans Day ever since.
Cromwell Media in Vandalia gives a collective Thank You to all Veterans on this Veterans Day—and each day.
