The FNB Community Bank recently announced the addition of Vandalia native Dalton Whitten as Junior Loan Officer.
“We are elated to welcome a Vandalia native, Dalton Whitten, to the team,” states Chief Lending Officer, Ty McNary. “Dalton’s involvement in the agricultural industry will be an important asset to our Loan Department.”
Whitten is a 2018 graduate of Vandalia High School. He went on to Kaskaskia College where he received an Associate’s degree in Agriculture Business and Animal Science. He graduated in 2022 from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, with a focus in Production Management. Whitten started his career at Richter Cattle Company, where he works as a farm manager. He is also the owner-operator of Cumberland Trail Hereford and Whitten Custom Baling. Within his careers, Whitten has helped maintain proper animal welfare policies, kept financial records up to date, and supervised records on all stock, registered, and commercial cattle.
“I am excited to be joining The FNB Loan team,” says Whitten, “This is a great opportunity to grow and serve the area. I am looking forward to this new chapter and helping community members achieve their financial goals.”
Whitten brings valued qualities of a strong work ethic and a passion for his work, from which he has developed from watching both of his grandpas work on their farms. While attending the U of I, he was part of the Livestock Judging Team. He also was a member of the National FFA Organization. During his time in FFA, he was delegated as the Illinois FFA Section 19 President. He is currently part of the Fayette County Farm Bureau Young Leaders. Outside of his busy work life, Whitten likes to spend time with his friends and family, as well as spend time working show cattle.
Whitten will be joining The FNB Community Bank’s Vandalia Loan Department, where he will help develop and service business and consumer loans in the community.
