Severe Storms are possible for the area this afternoon and tonight.
Our forecast for today says showers and thunderstorms are likely for today–mainly later this afternoon–with a high of 91. Then, showers and thunderstorms are likely for tonight with a low of 69.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis says a broken line of thunderstorms is expected along and east of an outflow boundary during the afternoon and into the early evening today. The NWS says the primary threat will be damaging wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and a few of the thunderstorms may also produce hail up to 1 inch in diameter. The NWS adds that while there is a broad area outlooked for severe thunderstorms, locations impacted by severe weather is expected to be isolated in nature.
