(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is teaming up with Illinois Joining Forces to administer the Illinois Warrior Assistance Program. This program offers a 24/7 helpline and resources for Illinois veterans, their families, and caregivers. This free and confidential service was initiated by the State of Illinois back in 2011 to assist veterans transitioning from military service who are encountering PTSD and other mental issues, as well as substance abuse problems.
