The City of Vandalia has changed the date for their next City Council meeting.
The Vandalia City Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, with the only exceptions being holidays that fall on Mondays. The next Vandalia City Council meeting was set for Monday, July 3rd—not a holiday but what will probably be a four day weekend for many with the next day, July 4th, being a holiday. In addition to the City Council meeting being scheduled for July 3rd, the council also scheduled a Work Session to further discuss a potential ordinance for golf carts and side by sides to be allowed on city streets and Mayor Gottman had commented they would like more public input at that meeting. But, with it being on the 3rd that would probably have taken away many residents making the meeting. So, Mayor Gottman says they were looking to move the meeting to Thursday, July 6th.
The Council approved the change. So, there will now be a Work Session at 4 pm then followed by the regular City Council meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 6th at Vandalia City Hall.
