Candidates for an Illinois U.S. Senate seat addressed renewable energy Wednesday at an agricultural legislative forum. The Illinois Farm Bureau held a roundtable for Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth and Republican nominee Kathy Salvi. Duckworth says biofuels have to be in the same conversation as wind and solar energy.
Salvi says putting up windmills all over Illinois may not be that profitable if you make $250-thousand dollars over 25 years.
According to the American Wind Energy Association, Illinois ranks sixth nationwide with nearly 28-hundred operational wind turbines.
