The Economic Impact Business of the Year from the City of Vandalia for 2022 talks about working through the pandemic and continued expansion. That winner is OctoChem and Mark Langston says they faced challenges during the pandemic, but worked their way through and came out in a good place on the other side.
Langston mentioned working with the City on projects that include the water main project and the street project. The water main project in the OctoChem area has been bid out and is nearly completion at this time. The street project was bid out with Precise Construction being the low bidder at 1.088 million dollars. That project is funded with $608,000 in I-DOT EDP funds, $54,400 in I-DOT TARP funds, $400,000 in DCEO grant funds and $174,000 in city funds. There will be a pre-construction meeting on the street project held next week. Meanwhile, Langston says they are continuing to expand and working to fill up their new expansion.
We will talk with Langston about an exciting development for OctoChem and we’ll talk more about that coming up tomorrow.
