(Chicago, IL) — Former state Representative Eddie Acevedo is going to prison in his federal tax cases. A judge sentenced him to six-months behind bars yesterday for failing to file an income tax return for three years while working as a self-employed consultant in Chicago. He pleaded guilty in December to tax evasion. His case is tied to the same investigation that led to this month’s indictment of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.
