The National Weather Service in St. Louis says A NWS survey team found a preliminary EF1 tornado that impacted Bond/Montgomery/Fayette counties in Illinois. Most of the damage observed was to trees and power lines. Top wind speeds were estimated to be around 110 mph. The National Weather Service in St. Louis also adds the EF1 tornado near Ramsey strengthened in the NWS of Lincoln territory into an EF2 new Herrick. On the Enhanced Fujita scale for tornadoes an EF1 is considered a weak tornado and will cause moderate damage while an EF2 is classified as a strong tornado and will cause severe damage.
