Republican gubernatorial candidate Christopher J. Roper made a campaign stop earlier this week in Fayette County, holding an open house in Vandalia. When discussing some of his most important priorities should he be elected Governor in 2022, Roper stressed that everyone from upstate Illinois to downstate Illinois needs to come together for the good of the state.
And Roper says some of the issues he would address immediately as Governor is working towards balancing the budget and getting rid of corruption in state government.
Along with Roper, State Senator Darren Bailey and former State Senator Paul Schimpf have also announced their candidacies for the Governor’s race in 2022. The Illinois Primary will be March 15, 2022 with the General Election on November 8, 2022.
