The City of Vandalia will have at least 2 contested races in the April 6th Consolidated Election.
On Monday at the beginning of filing at 8:30 am, Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman filed his paperwork to run for a 6th term in office. Alex Sasse also filed his petition, so Gottman will run against Sasse for Mayor in the April Election.
Also on Monday at 8:30 am, Kara Metzger, Barri Forehand, Cinde Carroll and Carla Huhn all filed their petitions to run for City Clerk. All 4 are vying to replace Clerk Peggy Bowen, who is not running for re-election.
Also filing at 8:30 on Monday morning was Jeremy Curll for Ward 4 Alderman. Andy Lester has picked up a petition to run for another term in Ward 4 but did not file his paperwork on Monday.
Also filing his petition was Ward 1 Alderman Steve Barker. No other candidate has picked up a petition at this time for Ward 1.
