(Tokyo, Japan) — The 2020 Olympics are officially postponed. The Tokyo Games are being pushed back to no later than the summer of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The International Olympic Committee made the decision on Tuesday with more and more athletes and countries requesting a postponement.

(Los Angeles, CA) — LA Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is buying The Forum in Inglewood, California. He’s agreed to purchase the arena, through a new company, for 400-million-dollars from The Madison Square Garden Company. It helps pave the way for a new arena in the area. The Forum will still be used as a concert venue.

(Philadelphia, PA) — Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris is reversing a decision that would have cut the pay of full-time staffers 20-percent starting April 15th. He tells ESPN that Monday’s announcement was clearly the wrong decision and he apologizes. It had been billed as a way to ensure employees had jobs all season.

(New York, NY) — The NFL plans to go ahead with the draft next month as scheduled despite opposition from league GM’s. ESPN reports the general manager subcommittee is recommending to commissioner Roger Goodell that the draft be pushed back. Some concern is over logistics for physicals and psychological testing.

(New York, NY) — NFL training facilities will close league wide tonight. Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to all 32 clubs, saying they must close by 6 p.m. Eastern, with few exceptions. The closures will last until April 8th when the league will determine with the help of medical and health experts if it’s safe to reopen.
>>Mets’ Syndergaard To Have Tommy John Surgery
(Flushing, NY) — If and when the Mets start playing baseball this season, they won’t have fireballer Noah Syndergaard. The 27-year-old will have Tommy John surgery on his ailing right elbow tomorrow and be out until at least April 2021. Syndergaard pitched a career-high 197-and-two-thirds innings in 32 starts last season.
