(Chicago, IL) — Governor Rauner says the offer from the White House of information about refugees who have come to Illinois is not sufficient. The Obama Administration is offering to all governors a tailored report on refugees settled in their state over the past month and through the year to date. Rauner, like more than half of the fifty governors, is insisting that background check information on refugees be provided to the state before they are resettled. The White House has said that violates privacy restrictions.
