The long term forecast for Illinois is calling for a mild winter. A strong El Nino effect in the Pacific Ocean is driving conditions across the country. State Climatologist Jim Angel says the long term outlook shows Illinois at an increased chance of warmer weather thru the winter.
Forecasters says there is no increased chance of being wetter or drier than average for most of Illinois in December, although there is a higher chance of dry conditions for the eastern part of the state thru February.
