(East St. Louis, IL) — It will likely cost downstate customers of Ameren Illinois a little less this year to fuel those furnaces that have started kicking on. The company says the price of natural gas should fall about twenty-percent this season, meaning an average home heating bill will be about 63-dollars less over the winter. The savings would be offset a bit if the Illinois Commerce Commission grants the company’s request for an increase in the gas delivery charge.
