the Kaskaskia River at Vandalia
* until Friday morning.
* At 10:30 AM Saturday the stage was 22.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 27.9 feet by tomorrow evening,
then fall below flood stage early Thursday morning.
* Impact: At 27.5 feet…Near this level, the left bank levee just
south of the U.S. Highway 51 bridge is overtopped.
