(Chicago, IL) — A federal judge in Chicago has ordered the state and a group of disgruntled lottery winners to begin settlement talks. A group of lottery winners is suing the state for its refusal to pay out prizes of more than 600-dollars because of the state budget impasse. Their lawsuit will continue, but in the meantime, Judge Ruben Castillo ordered the two sides to try to reach a settlement and referred the case to a magistrate judge to oversee the discussions.
