(Dixon, IL) — Some of Rita Crundwell’s personal riding gear generated 47-thousand-dollars toward repaying the money she stole when she was Dixon’s city comptroller. The auction of her saddles and spurs is one of three auctions held to recoup some of the 54-million-dollars she’s convicted of embezzling over 20-years. A sealed-bid auction for her horse show trophy collection is underway now, and an auction of her belt buckle collection begins later this month. The city did collect about 30-million-dollars after suing the bank that didn’t discover Crundwell’s theft.
