The man involved in a police chase and then a multi-day search by police in August, made an appearance in Fayette County Court on Tuesday. 39-year old Nick Maness of Ramsey appeared for a scheduled pre-trial Tuesday morning. At the hearing, Public Defender William Starnes, who is representing Maness, informed the court that they were requesting Problem-Solving Court for Maness. Due to that request, a new hearing date of November 30 at 10am was set and at that time it should be known whether or not Maness has been accepted into Problem Solving Court. Maness is charged with two counts of theft after he is alleged to have stolen a vehicle in the Brownstown area and led police on a chase before fleeing on foot in an area southwest of Ramsey leading to a 6-day police search. Maness was arrested and also charged with driving on a revoked license, aggravated fleeing of police and reckless conduct.
