(Chicago, IL) — Illinois’ attorney general is joining seven other states in trying to stop the Trump Administration from changing the rules for birds. Attorney General Lisa Madigan last week filed the lawsuit to stop the Interior Department from changing the threshold for when someone gets in trouble when a migratory bird dies. The old rules said intent didn’t matter, but the new rules would reverse that and give people a break if birds die unintentionally.
