The Lady Vandals picked up their first win of the season beating St. Elmo-Brownstown in three sets 14-25, 25-21, 25-13. After overcoming a slow start in the first set, the Lady Vandals won a close second set before closing out the match with a dominant third set win. The Lady Vandals were led in hitting in the match by Samantha Miller with 5 kills, J’Amy Jackson and Megan Kern with 4 kills each and Lauren Hagy with 3 kills. Lanee McNary had 9 assists and Megan Kern 8 assists. For St. Elmo-Brownstown, Macy Cripe and Natalie Oberlink each had 7 kills and Vayda Smith added 5 kills. Marlee Nolen had 24 assists for the Eagles. Vandalia is now 1-0 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday at home against Pana. SEB is 0-1 and will be back in action on Tuesday at home against Christ Our Rock.
