(Denver, CO) — The Cardinals open a three game series tonight against the Rockies at Coors Field. All-Star Miles Mikolas takes the mound for St. Louis while the Rockies counter with Antonio Senzatela. The Cards are 71-and-57 after sweeping the Dodgers. They hold the top spot in the National League Wild Card standings and are three games back of the Cubs for first place in the NL Central.

(Chicago, IL) — Javier Baez and Anthony Rizzo belted home runs for the Cubs in a 7-1 victory at Wrigley Field. The 481-foot solo shot hit by Baez in the third was the longest at the Friendly Confines this season. Cole Hamels posted the first complete game by a Cubs starter this year. He improved to 4-0 since being acquired by Chicago from the Rangers last month.

(Jupiter, FL) — Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha is coming off a solid rehab start. The righty threw three and two-thirds scoreless innings for Class A Palm Beach last night. He struck out four and allowed only one hit in his second appearance on a rehab assignment. The Cards hope to bring him back to the majors for the start of September.
