(Springfield, IL) — If you’re looking for a new spot to hunt deer during Illinois‘ next archery season, now is the time to apply with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. DNR says there are over 18 thousand acres of private land that are available for hunters this year in 20 counties across the state. Natural Resources Director Wayne Rosenthal says allowing hunters access to some private lands opens up more opportunities for hunters both from Illinois and from across the country. Archery season in Illinois begins in October.
