Two area teams will play for Class 1A Regional titles on Thursday after getting semifinal wins on Tuesday night. At the Oblong 1A Regional, St. Elmo-Brownstown beat host Oblong 25-15, 23-25, 25-17 in the second semifinal of the evening. Brandi Howard, Emily Bone and Gabi Moore all tallied 9 kills and Tessa Philpot had 7 kills. Sarah Maxey had 30 assists in the match while Moore added 24 digs and Philpot had 13 digs. SEB is now 23-12 on the season and will now play Clay City in the Regional Championship game on Thursday night at 6pm.
At the South Central 1A Regional, South Central got a 24-26, 25-15, 25-20 win over North Clay. South Central will now face Cisne in the Regional Championship on Thursday at 6p.m. A win on Thursday would give the Cougars their 5th title in 7 years and their 10th under Coach Mary Brimberry.
In other 1A Regional action, Patoka falls to Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 25-17, 25-16. Christ Our Rock will play Woodlawn for the Regional title Thursday at 6pm at Christ Our Rock Lutheran.
