(St. Louis, MO) — Paul DeJong had three hits, three RBI, and a run scored as the Cardinals held off the Cubs 5-2 in St. Louis. DeJong laced an RBI triple to get the Cards on the board in the third inning and a two-run single in the fourth. Yadier Molina and Jose Martinez also drove in runs to back six frames of two-run ball from winning pitcher Luke Weaver. Bud Norris locked down the save as the Cardinals moved to 52-and-51. Chicago starter Mike Montgomery gave up 12 hits and five runs across five innings to take the loss. Anthony Rizzo and Javier Baez homered in defeat. The Cubs are first in the NL Central at 60-and-43.
