This Thursday’s Halloween Parade will also mark the tragic accident of one year ago that claimed the life of a mother and three children in a train-vehicle accident in downtown Vandalia. But, the Vandalia Police Department says they are taking precautions to try and avoid such a tragedy this year on in the future. Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray says they are taking extra precaution at the 6th street railroad crossing.
And, Chief Ray says there are also some other precautions they are taking as well.
