(Chicago, IL) — Stinging from recent stories about big-bucks benefits packages for local college administrators, the University of Illinois is likely to cut perks for its top personnel. Under changes headed for a board of trustees vote next month, U. of I. President Thomas Killeen would no longer get a two-hundred-25-thousand-dollar retention bonus after five years. In addition, University of Illinois Chicago Chancellor Michael Amiridis will give up a 50-thousand-dollar annual housing allowance and live in a university-owned house near campus.
