(Aurora, IL) — The Illinois Math and Science Academy could soon not just be for kids in Illinois. Lawmakers in Springfield are considering a plan to allow out of state and international students to attend as well. Democrat Linda Holmes has a plan to allow IMSA to bring in about 150 students who are not from Illinois. Holmes says the out of state expansion would help the Academy weather another downturn in state support or other financial hardship.
