(Springfield, IL) — Illinois‘ unemployment rate is staying low. The latest report from the Illinois Department of Employment Security shows it’s at five-point-four-percent. However, IDES officials add in the monthly report that it’s not expected that Illinois will recover from the late-2000s recession until April 2017 at the earliest. A decline in the rate of job growth in the last four months in the state is to blame in the report.
