Several gun related bills are marking headway in the Illinois legislature. The House started passing a package of gun measures, including a ban on bump stocks, licensing gun dealers, and a 72 hour waiting period for the purchase of assault-style weapons. They were supported by State Representative Christian Mitchell, who made this plea to colleagues.
Additionally, the Senate approved the Lethal Violence Order of Protection Act, giving families a process to report concerns that their loved one may use a gun to hurt themselves or others.
