it’s that time of year again, when motorists need to be alert for deer crossing the road. Nearly half of all deer-vehicle accidents in Illinois happen in October, November and December. State Department of Transportation spokesperson Brian Williamsen says that’s why you should be extra careful while driving….keeping an eye out for deer.
Deer will often cross and double back so make sure they have left the area before proceeding. The Illinois counties with the most deer-vehicle accidents this past year were Cook, Madison, Will, and Sangamon counties.
