The City of Vandalia received a clean bill of financial health during its meeting Monday night as they were presented the yearly audit. Dale Timmerman presented the yearly audit and afterwards told the council in answer to an inquiry from Mayor Rick Gottman that the city is in good financial shape.
Mayor Gottman then stating that the city needs to continue being smart with their spending and watching the economy and making sure they don’t go overboard, Timmerman told the board that they needed to make sure they continue to watch their revenue and not plan for increases in tax monies coming in the event that they may by surprise go down.
The audit showed the city ended the fiscal year in the black with a balance of about $153,400.
