(Springfield, IL) — It’ll be about two weeks before managers at the Illinois Capitol know if the bacteria that causes Legionnaire’s disease is in their water system. The Illinois Secretary of State late Monday sent a memo to state capitol complex workers explaining that tests show the ‘possible presence’ of Legionella, which causes Legionnaire’s disease. The memo says people shouldn’t worry about getting sick from day to day office work. More thorough test results are expected back in two weeks.
