(Chicago, IL) — The Illinois Department of Human Services has some questions to answer. “The Chicago Tribune” reported yesterday that problems with the state’s new computer system at DHS caused some people in the state to miss out on their food stamp benefits. The biggest problem seems to be whether the people who administer the food stamp program in Illinois are using the new computer system properly. The paper said cancellations jumped from about 15 thousand in October to over 40 thousand people last month.
