(Chicago, IL) — A couple of campaigns for governor are kicking into gear in Illinois. Back on the campaign trail Monday in Decatur, Governor Rauner is hitting many of same themes he intones nearly every day, namely that high taxes, anti-business regulations and union protections kept in place by House Speaker Michael Madigan and Democrats are standing in the way of Illinois‘ growth. Meanwhile, Democrat Chris Kennedy released his new commercial, focusing on ending gun violence. Alluding to his family’s history with gun deaths, he says together we can rise up and stop the slaughter. Kennedy’s 30-second spot will air in the Chicago market.
