(Hillsboro, MO) — The man who killed six people in Illinois and a couple in Missouri won’t be getting the death penalty in that state. Nicholas Sheley pleaded guilty yesterday to killing Tom and Jill Estes in Fulton, Missouri back in 1998. Missouri prosecutors originally wanted to put Sheley on death row, but his guilty plea took that off the table. The families of many of Sheley’s victims say the plea denies them the justice that they wanted. The judge in Missouri sentenced Sheley to life in prison, he’s already serving a life term in Illinois.
