Governor Bruce Rauner is calling for unity as lawmakers start a 10 day special session today. The Governor is urging the House and Senate to pass a Republican plan that was outlined last week, saying it’s truly balanced, funds schools and includes property tax relief.
The Governor says this may be one of the most important legislative sessions in Illinois history and that failure to act may cause permanent damage to our state. Governor Rauner even added he could live with a tax increase in order to get a new state budget.
