(Springfield, IL) — Illinois‘ education secretary says Governor Rauner likes almost all of the new plan to change how the state pays for schools. But Beth Purvis says Governor Rauner will veto it because the proposal sends too much money to Chicago schools. Purvis says the plan’s 215 million-dollars for Chicago teacher pensions and 250 million for Chicago schools is simply too much.
