(Los Angeles, CA) — The Cardinals scored three times in the first inning, but were held in check the rest of the way in a 7-3 loss to the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Michael Wacha gave up six runs in four-plus innings to take the loss. Jedd Gyorko doubled in two for St. Louis.

(Chicago, IL) — Eddie Butler and Mike Montgomery combined on a five-hitter as the Cubs beat the Giants 5-1 at Wrigley Field. Butler allowed four hits and one run in five innings for the win. Kris Bryant, Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist homered as Chicago took three-of-four. The Cubs visit the Dodgers tonight.
