A new sentencing hearing date has been set a Vandalia man convicted back in February of three counts of possession of child pornography. The original sentencing hearing for 56-year old William Frakes of Vandalia scheduled to be held on March was continued due to a change of defense counsel. Frakes appeared back in Fayette County Court last week, now represented by Monroe McWard, and a new sentencing hearing has been set for Tuesday, May 16 at 1pm. Frakes was found guilty of two counts of possession of child pornography of a sadistic nature depicting a victim reasonable known to be under the age of 13 which are Class X felonies and punishable by 6 to 30 years in prison. The third count Frakes was found guilty of is possession of child pornography depicting a victim reasonably known to be under the age of 13 which is a Class 2 felony and is punishable by 3 to 7 years in prison.
