Our weekend will be filled with heavy rains. But, before we get to all that, we could see some severe weather move thru the area tonight. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says that severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon thru tonight. The NWS says that large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats, but isolated tornadoes will also be possible. Then, heavy rain is also possible tonight as a Flash Flood Watch comes into effect beginning at 7 pm.
The National Weather Service also adds that severe thunderstorms will be possible Saturday thru Sunday evening, along with the heavy rainfall. The NWS now says that 3 to 5 inches of rainfall is forecast for the region, with locally higher amounts possible.
