(Springfield, IL) — The odds are still stacked against Illinois seeing a budget before the end of May. But at least the two most powerful men at the statehouse are talking again. Governor Rauner and House Speaker Mike Madigan met yesterday to talk about a budget. The governor said Madigan ‘hinted’ he may be open to business reforms, Madigan’s spokesman said they’ve done that in the past as well. Illinois hasn’t had a budget in nearly two years.
